Members of the Diplomatic Business Club visited Turkistan at the invitation of the Akim of the Turkistan region, Umirzak Shukeyev, and participated in the forum "The Great Silk Road – the Great Heritage". The Co-Chairman of the DBC, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Kazakhstan, Mr. Mihai Galoshfay, gave a speech at the opening of the forum.

Investment opportunities of the Turkistan region, preservation of its historical and cultural heritage and the importance of the Silk Road in development of tourism, taking into account international experience, were the main topics of discussion at the forum. The DBC delegation, represented by ambassadors and representatives from 15 countries, participated in the plenary session of the forum also attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Aktoty Raimkulova, Deputy Minister – Gabidulla Abdrakhimov, Akim of the Turkistan region – Umirzak Shukeyev, as well as representatives of UNWTO and UNESCO.

Then, the guests had a cultural program where they were able to visit the sights of Turkistan – the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, the Visit Center of Turkistan, Uly Dala Eli center, Karavan Saray tourist complex and Altyn Samuryk flying theater.
